Leather Armor Making Guide

How to make leather armor.

To make you own leather armor you need three things, tanned leather, a needle, and thread (I'm not sure what the ratio is but I would suggest one roll of thread for every five cow hides)

getting the hides
you need to first kill cows to get their hides or you can trade other player for cow hides. If you are going to kill the cows yourself, there are three fields which you can go to, the first is right out side of Al Kharid. I don't prefer going to this field because there aren't that many cows and this one since it is the closest to the tanner and there are usually a lot of people. The next one  is south of Faldor, this one is just as good because its close to a bank so you can just store your hides there and get them back out at the back in AL Kharid when you think you have enough. the last one is at the crafting guild, you can visit the cow feilds for free and they are hardly ever crowded, but the downside is it is very far away from any bank. Once youre in the crafting guild this is the best place however since the other tanner is right upstairs.

tanning the leather
the bank in al kharid is just south of the tanner so you can get your untanned hides out of the bank carry them over to him and have them tanned for about 2 gp per hide or about 4 if you want hard leather (this can be used at a higher level to create hard bodies)

needle and thread
you can buy these at any crafting shop, i would suggest buying them in al kharid since youll already be down there to tan the leather.

making the armor
once you have all these thing you can use the needle with the tanned leather and choose what type of armor you want to make (boots gloves body chaps or coif) you can make gloves at any level but you will need a higher crafting level to make the rest.
